SUBNETTING THE PLANET
Role: Created characters, Story, Script, Design, Animation
Cisco asked us to use the Peter Packet characters for an older audience to teach network administrators the concept of subnetting networks. We created a "story" around Peter and his new companion, Pixie, crash landing on a planet, which represented a "network". Continents on the planet represented the subnetworks. Then the inhabitants of the planet, bits (little ones and zeroes), represented the binary code of IP addresses. The result was a bit weird, but still, I think people liked learning a normally tedious topic this way. Plus the bits were kind of cute. Also it's the first time I hired Chris Tin (who has composed numerous pieces for Pocket god and now a Grammy winner) to create an original music piece.
